Happy birthday Hedwig Kohn! I am very pleased to have been commissioned by google to create a doodle celebrating the 132nd birthday of German-born physicist Hedwig Kohn. She was one of only three women to achieve a habilitation in physics in Germany. Because of her Jewish heritage, Kohn had to leave Germany during the Nazi regime. She continued to teach in the United States after settling there permanently.
